Temporary full time position (until January 2028)Location negotiable – Dubbo, Coonamble or CoonabarabranSalary starting from $106,025.00 pa + superWork with your community, for your community!Central West Local Land Services are seeking a proactive, hands on Senior Land Services Officer (NRM) to identify and manage a variety of priority landscape and threatened species projects and programs throughout the region.
About the Role As part of a varied and dynamic regionally dispersed team you will:
Provide timely, effective and high-quality frontline advisory and extension services to rural landholders and stakeholders, partners and industry groupsEngage with landholders to lead and deliver on ground natural resource management and agricultural productivity projects, as well as work with the broader NRM team to identify new project opportunitiesProvide leadership and support to small project teamsCollect and collate data, analyse information and provide accurate and appropriately balanced advice, reports and recommendations on natural resource management and agricultural issuesDevelop major partnerships and collaboration opportunitiesMonitor, evaluate, report and improve programs and projects and contribute to strategic planning.About You Ideally you'll have:
A degree in agriculture, environmental science or natural resource management.
If not, you'll have an equivalent level of industry knowledge and experienceThe capacity to understand legislation and policy as it relates to natural resource management, agriculture, biosecurity, and emergency management, as well as natural disaster emergency management operationsA passion for natural resource managementDemonstrated project management experience combined with proven relationship management and partnership developmentThe ability to work closely with and understand the needs of both landholders and NRM groupsSound prioritisation skills when managing conflicting goals and deadlinesKnowledge of landscapes and threatened speciesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA positive and solution focused attitude with the ability to think creatively and solve complex problems for both yourself and others as they ariseAs an essential requirement of the role, you'll also need to have a current NSW Driver Licence, and the capacity and willingness to travel throughout Central West NSW as required.
