The Post Land Transfer Support Team within the Program provides support services to those land holding entities who are granted the transferred land.
A dedicated team of five full time officers provide support to the land holding entities to: Increase their governance capacity and achieve compliance with legislative requirements (i.e.
ALA and/or CATSI Act).
Increase capacity to undertake natural and cultural value resource management projects on their Country.
This enhances land management and protection, creates increased opportunities for people to return to Country and increases employment opportunities for Traditional Owners.
Coordinate support efforts across agencies and foster productive mutually beneficial partnerships between Land Trusts or Corporations and other land management organisations and stakeholders.
Investigate, develop and progress economic business development opportunities to improve employment opportunities for Traditional Owners.
This unique opportunity contributes to delivering the Program in partnership with Aboriginal people and other stakeholders.
This includes the provision of support and advice to Land Trusts or Corporations to assist their governance and compliance with regulatory requirements including legislation relating to Aboriginal land, Aboriginal corporations and native title.
