Paxus is currently seeking highly experienced, Senior Java Developers to join a program of work to oversee software development projects, write optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers.The team you will join develops and supports presentation systems to display information to clients about their applications, requests, or outcomes.
This includes undertaking project, non-project, and production support work to design, enhance, and maintain a range of systems.
The team delivers projects using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology and is responsible for the delivery of several large key government and legislative priorities.In this role, you will:Provide technical design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large and complex applications;Participate in the design and development of technical changes that meet business requirements while being aligned with Enterprise Architecture artefacts;Develop, maintain, and unit test system components;Provide application development in line with Departmental standards and methodologies;Provide coding, unit testing, and maintenance of complex J2EE applications and components;Develop and maintain system design documentation;Provide database design and development;Contribute to architectural issues;Mentor junior team members;Troubleshoot production issues and incidents;Provide development effort estimates for changes to existing applications and new applications;Conduct Code Review and other Quality Assurance tasks for projects and for code delivered by the Section;Provide status reporting to Development Managers;Work within small development teams;Liaise with business analysts, testers, and other stakeholders to efficiently deliver high-quality work;Triage defects to determine priorities and defect fix implementation;Analyze and identify the root causes contributing to incidents and problems.You will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:Documentation of system products technical design and systems operation;Deployment plans, workflows, events, and sequence diagrams;Records of troubleshooting, production issues, and incidents.To be successful in this role, you will have:Experience working with one or more of the following technologies: Java 8 and above (Spring (boot, data, rest), J2EE, Servlet, EJB & EJB3, JPA (Hibernate), SOAP, Web services, Component, SQL, Oracle, DBE)Demonstrated experience with systems integration via REST or web servicesGood understanding of SDLC, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology, release management, and ICT change managementTo be considered for the role click the 'apply' button or for more information about this and other opportunities please contact Rashmi Kapse on +612 6151 9206 or email (emailprotected) and quote the above job reference number.Paxus values diversity and welcomes applications from Indigenous Australians, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and people living with a disability.
