Transport Services is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for delivering transport operations across all modes that provides a single user interface to the transport network.
Network Operations is a Division within the Transport Service Group responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of Victoria's Transport Network, with the Transport Systems Branch providing a one-stop shop of expertise for the solutions and infrastructure management delivered using on-road, device-based and in-vehicle technology to support our real-time and tactical management of the road network.
The role is to exercise independent professional judgement to plan, implement and monitor ITS works to achieve project scope, quality, cost, time, safety and environmental requirements in accordance with relevant policies and toolkits.
Your outcomes and accountabilities, Project Delivery - Support the development and delivery of ITS projects assigned to Transport Systems including review of business case development, project scoping, design investigation and development, obtaining approvals, stakeholder engagement and liaison, contract administration and financial management of the works for Internal DTP customers (e.g. Inner Metro) and for external customers such as VIFA (e.g. MRPV).Business and Commercial Acumen - In accordance with project scope, prepare engineer estimates, program timelines, coordinate and prepare specifications and tender documents, including end to end procurement process to ensure the client's outcome requirements and DTP business objectives are met.Stakeholder Management - Actively foster collaborative working relationships within DTP, VIFA and other Government departments, Portfolio Agencies, the Commonwealth Government, industry and other key stakeholders and establish ongoing initiatives to enhance these relationships including alerting senior management to potential issues.Critical Thinking and Problem Solving - Demonstrate logical and well-reasoned decision making to resolve complex issues and make sound decisions on issues that may not be defined by policies, procedures and precedents.Influence & Persuasion - Negotiate with and influence stakeholders to resolve contract/project issues and build and maintain effective working relationships.Develop capability - Exercise independent professional judgement to anticipate and assess potential project risks, undertake/coordinate complex risk assessments and develop necessary mitigation plans.Managing Difficult conversations - Understand and hold supplier/contractor to account for technical, safety and permit requirements.Key Selection Criteria We're looking for a proactive professional skilled in project delivery and stakeholder management to help us achieve meaningful outcomes and drive efficiency.
