Job posting end date: 01/25/2025 We are seeking a Senior IT Specialist to join our team.
The Senior IT Specialist is pivotal in delivering and supporting the Australia and Southeast Asia business in technology that enables strategy, innovation, and growth.
The Senior IT Specialist is a proactive stakeholder, customer service-oriented, and technologically apt at managing and delivering a diverse project portfolio.
This role is mostly based in our West Perth office, though we are happy to offer some flexible working arrangements.
You will report into the Country IT Manager, APA.
What you'll do •    Build and maintain positive tactical relationships with a variety of stakeholders across multiple sites, locations, diverse countries and business teams •    Manage local and global IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality, procedures, documentation, and governance standards; including M&A's, Divestments, Site relocations, expansions, global and local projects, local business demands, and other nature of activities.
•    Coordination and collaboration with external vendors, global teams, individual contributors across multiple disciplines to successfully deliver projects and transition to BAU support •    Provide business partnership with focus on value added initiative, proposal of innovative solutions and improvements, to drive digitalisation, automation, efficiency and growth in technology usage •    Capture and analyse business demands and requirements, evaluate and develop solution proposals for local and global review process through to approval or other suitable outcome •    Management of project technical elements, as well as planning, business consultation, change management and active communication •    Provide exceptional customer service, addressing technical matters and inquiries with professionalism and expertise •    Stay abreast of current and emerging technology and trends to provide strategic insights and recommendations •    Engage with local, regional, and global IT colleagues to align on best practices and knowledge sharing •    Provide advanced troubleshooting of services together with vendors and service providers •    Contribute to local IT standards and procedures, support evaluation and implementation •    Coordinate and provide end user training and upskilling of tools and technology •    Perform organisation and management of special business and IT events •    Work with Country IT Manager on concepts, initiatives and development •    Contribute to realising country IT strategic vision and annual action plan •    Provide mentoring and support to junior team members.
Who you are •    Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, OR equivalent industry experience and certifications with minimum of 15 years' experience as an IT Professional •    Exceptional communication and interpersonal people skills, with a focus on engagement of senior stakeholders and leaders, trust and relationship development •    Working knowledge and experience across broad range of IT technologies and domains such as infrastructure, applications, telecommunications, etc.
•    Proven skills and experience in IT project management, change management, and IT service management with strong soft skills •    Demonstrated success with identifying opportunities for improvement and driving service improvement initiatives •    Excellent critical thinking skills, ability to work autonomously and independently to deliver exceptional results •    English fluency with strong natural verbal and written communication, presentation and report writing skills •    Willingness to attend meetings outside of business hours, be available on-call for response to alerts and incidents, attend sites to investigate and support resolution Hiring Manager: Patrick Mamigonian    How to join - Working at Metso - About Metso - Diversity and Inclusion - Meet our people Metso is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce culture.
