As a Senior iOS Software Engineer at Render, you will write, test, and debug code for our native iPhone and iPad applications, using either official Apple programming languages such as Swift and Objective-C or other compatible languages.
The right person for this role will continuously learn and improve to deliver high-quality testable code, working closely with product managers and designers to deliver simple yet compelling experiences for our mobile users.
A solid understanding of Apple's mobile application frameworks is critical in this role in order to stay up to date with the latest iOS trends and changes.
Success in this role will be demonstrated by enhancing existing applications to retain customers as well as launching new applications to attract new users.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:Create high-quality, UX-rich iOS and iPadOS appsSpecialise in native Apple technologies such as UIKit, MapKit, SwiftUI, AVKit, Metal, etc.Integrate with third party modules, libraries, and services from partners and other ISVsScope, develop, and deploy minor and major app enhancements and new featuresPerform unit and integration tests, and support the development of test automation suitesWork closely with product managers, software engineers, and designers to implement solutionsMaintain focus on usability and scale by optimizing app performance and memory usageEnsure compliance with coding and design and standards, including enforcement of parity goals with other platformsAbout you:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fieldMinimum 6 years of extensive and hands-on iOS app development experienceWorked previously in a startup environment and can code independently while adhering to standardsWork experience in an agile software development processesExcellent programming skills and core competency in Swift developmentDemonstrated knowledge of iOS frameworks, such as Core Data, MapKit, Metal, etc.An understanding of the trade-offs of using different design patterns, such as MVC or MVVMExcellent communication & problem solving skillsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsA desire to learn and grow with the team, while also sharing your own insightsExperience with geospatial and mapping technologies a plus*Please note that this role is based in Melbourne.
