With branches in Rockhampton, Mackay and Barcaldine and a site office in Emerald, the Transport and Main Roads Program Delivery and Operations (PDO) Central Queensland Region (CQ Region) looks after 9076km of state-controlled roads and about 1510km of the National Road Network. This role will contribute to the development and delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).

You will also act as a functional team leader for the district's roadwork inspectors, managing deployment of inspector resources and improving organisational inspector capability.
Some of your responsibilities will include: Review and implement inspector training and development plans and provide mentoring to improve inspector capability.Coordinate the rotation of internal and external roadworks inspector resources across TMR construction, maintenance and/or developer projects.Review documentation and provide feedback on departmental specifications and procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of TMR's management systems.Ensure consistent interpretation and application of TMR standards and construction and/or maintenance practices, including collection of records to a suitable standard.Provision of oversight on the management of audits of contractors' works, processes and quality records to ensure compliance with governance and contract conditions, including specialised inspections, for example precast prestressed components and asphalt.Utilise construction industry experience to provide support, advice and knowledge to achieve effective outcomes for the district.Mandatory qualifications and conditions: A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence.Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.Desirable qualifications and conditions: Diploma in Civil Supervision, or recognised equivalence.Certificate III in Civil Construction, or recognised equivalence.Requirements of the role: Embraces new ideas and makes considered decisions, based on the broader program of works.Develops and sustains relationships to enable the delivery of customer-focused outcomes.Ability to mentor and strengthen the capabilities of your team.Maintains a high standard of practice through the management and use of established processes and resources.Demonstrated knowledge of construction and/or maintenance practices and principles relevant to transport infrastructure projects.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
