You could be one of our 2700 committed team members who are up to the challenge.About the roleThe Senior Insights Analyst plays a critical role within the Performance team, part of the Operations group, and is responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that guide strategic decisions, drive operational improvements, and elevate the customer experience.In this position, you will lead data analytics projects, develop data models, create compelling visualisations, and mentor team members, including the Performance Analyst and Customer Insights Analyst.Key Accountabilities include:Collect, prepare, and analyse large datasets from diverse sources, including patronage statistics, rail operations metrics and customer feedback.Support the Performance Analyst and Customer Insights Analyst in developing and maintaining data models, data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools to track key performance indicators and uncover trends.Perform advanced statistical analysis, forecasting, and predictive modelling to drive informed decision-making.Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver insights aligned with strategic goals.Present findings through clear visualisations, reports, and presentations tailored for various audiences.Provide thought leadership on best practices in data analysis and insights generation.Stay up to date with emerging tools, techniques, and industry trends in data analytics.About youSuccess in this role requires an adaptable, solutions-oriented mindset, a passion for problem-solving, and a curiosity to uncover hidden insights.You will bring a background in a similar analyst role that includes data management and statistical modelling. Additionally, you will leverage a broad range of analytical skills to present clear findings to senior leadership teams, driving performance capability and delivering outcomes that directly impact our customers.Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:Advanced experience in scripting and programming languages such as SQL, DAX, Python, or R.Proficiency in Power BI and Excel at an advanced level is essential.Strong communication, relationship management, and problem-solving skills when collaborating with senior business stakeholders.Ability to manage competing business priorities, requirements, and resources effectively.Industry knowledge or relevant work experience in the rail or coach sectors is advantageous.Experience leading or supporting a small team is beneficial.Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.In addition to free myki travel, we offer:Community impact - Make a genuine difference.
