Senior Industry and Government Relations OfficerThe Senior Industry and Government Relations Officer is responsible for the following deliverables, which represent an ongoing body of work:Develop strong professional relationships both across CASA and with relevant Commonwealth agencies.Coordinate and prepare CASA responses to correspondence, briefings and other requests, including the integration of legal and/or technical material from a diverse range of sources into a product that suits the task.Assist the Section Manager in providing accurate and timely advice on CASA corporate issues to key stakeholders including the Minister, Senators and Members of Parliament, the Minister's office, the Department and other government agencies.Responsible for the development and maintenance of governance related material associated with CASA's primary engagement forum/s including the government and parliamentary services, aviation safety advisory panel.Coordination of senate committee responsibilities including preparation for senate estimates and responding to questions on notice.Provides strategic advice to CASA business areas on methods to consult and engage with the aviation community to support regulatory change proposals.Prepare, coordinate and review meeting and other briefs and correspondence for the CEO/DAS and/or senior managers.Develops and implements a coordinated and strategic approach to deliver CASA's General Aviation Workplan.Build and maintain relationships across CASA's diverse business units and with a range of external stakeholders to identify opportunities, deliver outcomes and facilitate cooperation.Identify and engage new stakeholders, considering future needs/direction of CASA and aviation sector.At all times, acts consistently in accordance with the CASA values and behaviours.Promote workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and environmental management practices in the workplace.To be successful in the role will require a high level of integrity, and strong communication and organisational skills to manage competing priorities for the successful delivery of branch, divisional and/or CASA-wide objectives.You will have sound judgement, a high degree of initiative, attention to detail and discretion in dealing with business matters. You will have the ability to work collaboratively with others and build productive relationships to achieve results in a busy, fast paced environment.Ideal candidates are those with an aviation industry or aviation policy and stakeholder engagement background.
