Multiple Continuing and fixed-term positions available / Full-time at 1.0 FTE Higher Education Officer Level 7 | $97,503 to $107,932 pa plus 17% superannuation About the Role The Senior IDS Digital Workplace Officer will play a pivotal role in maintaining the seamless operation of critical IT services across the University. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the technical and operational design, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of the University's Digital Workplace services, specifically the Microsoft 365 environment and enterprise support for university endpoint devices using Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Intune. In addition, you will work collaboratively with the relevant IDS and University stakeholders to support and deliver Digital Workplace related change initiatives and activities.
This essential role is also responsible for ensuring that customer needs for Digital Workplace systems are fully addressed and are consistent with best practice approaches. This is achieved by providing:
Operational Support: Providing day-to-day operational support for all digital workplace services, ensuring that any incidents and requests are promptly addressed to minimize disruption to the University's activities. Maintenance Activities: Conducting regular maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and security of the digital workplace infrastructure. This includes updates, patches, and proactive monitoring to prevent potential issues. Service Enhancements: Supporting the ongoing enhancement of services in alignment with the University's IDS strategies, particularly in the areas of Cybersecurity and Infrastructure. This involves collaborating with various stakeholders to implement improvements that enhance the user experience and operational efficiency. About You The Senior IDS Digital Workplace Officer will have high-level thinking, planning, and analytical skills as well as demonstrated experience in establishing stakeholder relationships and meeting client expectations.
The successful candidate will have an appropriate tertiary qualification in Information Technology (or relevant technical area) or subsequent relevant experience in an IT environment. They will also be able to demonstrate the following capabilities and have experience across some (not necessarily all) of the technologies listed:
Well-developed skills in contributing to a team reaching its full potential, including well-developed to high-level interpersonal and relationship management skills. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365 including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, EntraID, and Purview. Demonstrated experience with standard operating environments (SOEs) across a range of operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Apple MacOS, and Ubuntu, including associated management platforms such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Intune, and Jamf Pro. Demonstrated experience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) such as Citrix. Well-developed to high-level interpersonal influence and demonstrated ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with staff and customers across a diverse organisation particularly during the design, management, and implementation of customer solutions. Experience in agile ways of working including exposure to scaled agile methodologies and/or collaborating and delivering through a matrix structure. About the University's Information and Digital Services team Information and Digital Services (IDS) provides technology services and support to the Flinders University staff, research, and student community. The IDS team apply technical expertise to support university projects and provide core services such as platform management, service desk, information security, and identity access management services and more.
