The Assurance and Investment team is part of the Office of Assurance and Investment that aims to improve digital delivery outcomes to the Queensland Government on its data, digital and ICT investments.
The Assurance and Investment team works with:
Agencies to maximise data, ICT and digital investment outcomes. Individual projects and programs to assure the application of best practice Portfolio, Programme and Project (P3O) management and Assurance methods. Agencies to develop guidance, tools and techniques that optimise successful, customer-focused investments. Director-Generals and Executive Government to assure governance rigour for digital initiatives and investments. As a member of the Assurance and Investment team, you will:
Conduct analysis of strategic fit business cases and other indicators of initiative success. Provide expert advice and recommendations on all aspects of significant whole-of-Government and agency ICT and ICT-enabled initiatives. Establish and improve relationships with senior officers in government agencies to communicate, support, and advance the whole-of-government governance of initiatives. Develop and manage activities to promote and raise awareness of QGCDG and its governance and P3O activities. Engage actively with the Investment Review, Assurance leads and ICT Technical specialists in the QGCDG to ensure a streamlined interface between QGCDG and agencies and develop new processes and procedures associated with the QGCDG governance role. Work with the backing of a values-led team and a supportive leadership group, committed to improving digital delivery outcomes and support Queensland Government to better deliver on its data, digital and ICT investments.
As the Senior ICT Investment Consultant, you will be responsible for the analysis of significant initiatives. This includes analysis of project and programme management, and the related strategy and business artefacts associated with the initiative to provide written and verbal briefing to government on the governance rigour, assurance, business impact, complexity and risk practices and ultimately the likelihood of success of agency and whole of government initiatives.

On 1 November 2024, the Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group (QGCDG) transitioned from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) to the newly established Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (DCSODSFB) as part of the recent Machinery-of-Government changes.
As a result, this position will continue to be part of QGCDG but will no longer be part of DTMR. The conditions and entitlements that apply to the new DCSODSFB are still to be determined and may differ from those advertised. Applicants will be advised of employment conditions at the time of shortlisting/interview stage of the process.
