Job DescriptionAbout the Role: A permanent, full-time role based at our Sydney CBD office, the role of a Senior I&C Project Engineer at GPA Engineering is to manage a portfolio of projects, predominantly in the heavy resources industry, and represents an important position in the company's ongoing growth in NSW.
This role would suit a self-driven and motivated I&C Project Engineer with heavy resources, manufacturing or other complex industrial project experience, such as in the oil and gas industry. Renowned for delivering quality engineering work for its clients across Australia, you will be part of a privately-owned company that takes pride in its family culture and long-term retention rates.
Key Duties Development and modification of design drawings for industrial instrumentation and control systemsSelection / specification of industrial instrumentationAssisting with and reviewing multidisciplinary deliverablesProposal preparation and engineering cost estimatesDeveloping plans and scopes of work for the installation of Instrument/Control systemsSuccessfully deliver on small to large, complex, multidisciplinary, high-risk projects.Collaboratively resolve anomalies, design issues, technical challenges.Chair regular client meetings and track project actions, issues and risks.Monitor project progress and prepare formal progress reports for the client.Provide input to project tenders.Contracts administration for larger projects.Visit clients/sites as required.Contribute to the technical success of project outcomes within your engineering discipline(s).Desired Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, we are seeking candidates that are self-starters, driven, and possess great problem-solving skills, with the following relevant experience:
Significant experience in instrumentation and controls engineeringSolid understanding of key Australian standards including AS3000Control system design and specification (including industrial networks, automation equipment, instrumentation and control devices) with an awareness of ISA95 compliant architectures.Designing and modifying control system network architecture drawings.General understanding of LV power systems, distribution and design.Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skillsSatisfactorily completed a Bachelor of Engineering and eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in Australia.Project Management qualification is highly desirable.A requirement for this role is to complete a satisfactory pre-employment medical and Australian police clearance.
