About the Tasmanian State Service
The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.
As part of a small specialised team, the Senior Hydrographer will plan and coordinate operational procedures required for the monitoring, collection, analysis, and reporting of information relating to water resources in Tasmania.
Responsibilities
Operate the NRE Tas time-series database "AQUARIUS".
Maintain streamflow and groundwater station infrastructure.
Carry out repairs to hydraulic civil structures and electronic water monitoring equipment.
Provide specialised and authoritative advice on water quantity issues.

Hours per Fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Minimum Requirements
A Diploma from a recognised TAFE institution, or an equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the work. Civil Engineering or Surveying qualifications highly regarded.
Unrestricted driver's licence.
Ability to swim.
Ability to work at heights.
Swift Water/Boating training.
A current First Aid certificate.
