About the team We are looking for a Senior Hydrogeologist to help us deliver a strong pipeline of work on high profile and challenging projects that span natural resource management to major infrastructure projects. We invest in building and sustaining trusted relationships with key clients including but not limited to; water authorities, resources clients, council and government authorities as well as contribute to a range of joint ventures on road and rail projects. We are also currently helping to implement the intent of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan through projects in NSW, Victoria and South Australia.
The role sits within the Water Resources Section which encompasses the Australia and New Zealand region. We support flexible working arrangements, and the successful candidate can be based anywhere within this area, although we have a preference for Victoria or New South Wales. Our section contains a range of specialist skills in hydrology, flood modelling, aquatic ecology, water quality, hydrogeology and waterway engineering. As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will be responsible for leading the technical input to projects, building relationships with internal and external clients, and coaching a range of less experienced professionals. There is the potential for this role to have a secondary responsibility as Team Leader to help support the Section Leader (SL) to provide leadership to the team – if this is of interest, the team leader role would sit alongside your core Senior Hydrogeologist role and would take up approximately 20-25% of your time.

The role The purpose of this role is to provide specialist groundwater services, and to collaboratively work with other disciplines. You will be required to write proposals for, win and manage both complex and smaller projects within the area of your technical expertise.
You will be responsible for: Undertaking and leading a range of groundwater and natural resource management projects, including both office-based and field-based activitiesData collation and analysisProviding specialist groundwater support to other technical disciplines within Jacobs, including for infrastructure projectsLeading fee proposals, including developing a method and budgetLiaison with clients, stakeholders and regulatorsLiaison with Jacobs teams across the region, and globallyPresenting information at meetings in a concise and effective mannerAuthoring complex assessments / reportsReport checking and reviewManaging projects so that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the agreed qualityTechnical and specialty skills: Bachelor Degree in Science or Engineering with specialist knowledge and skills in hydrogeologyExperience in compiling technical reports that detail the type, methodologies, results of field activities, interpretation of results and impact assessmentProven ability to confidently liaise, build relationships and secure new opportunities with existing and new clientsHave sufficient knowledge of the legislation and policies that are relevant to our workJacobs.
