Exciting opportunity with the Department of Education - Metropolitan South Regional HR. Due to promotion/transfer, two permanent AO6 Senior HR Business Partner opportunities exist, partnering with leadership teams of stateschools in Ipswich and southside Brisbane, providing generalist HR support. Travel to schools is required on a regular basis as a part of this role. These positions are offered on a permanent full-time basis.

About the role: Two exciting permanent opportunities have become available for Senior Human Resource Consultants (locally known as Senior HR Business Partners), joining the Metropolitan South region Business Partnering team. Senior HR Business Partners provide senior level, strategic advice and support to Principals and school leadership teams across a portfolio of schools. Metropolitan South region includes the Ipswich corridor, the area west of Ipswich to Laidley and surrounds, southside Brisbane and the Redlands. The available portfolios of schools to support are centred primarily in the Ipswich corridor.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain effective, collaborative partnerships with a range of partners, including:Principals and school leadership teamsMetro South region HR teams including other Senior HR Business Partners, Organisational Health, Safety and Wellbeing team and Employee Relations teamHR teams in other regional offices and central officeMetro South Regional Services teamProvide senior level strategic advice and support to Principals and Leadership teams within your portfolio of schools, on a range of issues including:Workforce planningConduct and performanceEmployee complaints, IR and ER issuesUnion mattersApplication of legislation, EB's and directivesWorkplace reformsTeacher transfer processRecruitmentInjury management referralsOur ideal applicant will:
Have the ability to quickly build trusted partnerships with Principals and stakeholdersHave strong analytical and problem-solving skillsBe confident in analysing data to inform local workforce strategies.Have a growth mindset and can encourage others to think outside the box.Be an excellent communicator, influencer and be comfortable working with senior leaders.Have the ability to prioritise work and manage time to achieve peak effectivenessPossess strongly developed knowledge and application of human resource management practices, policies, and systems and continuously review corporate services and functions.Experience with HRIS and/or payroll systems is advantageous.This role is based at one of our Metropolitan South regional offices (preferably Ipswich, however Mount Gravatt is also available) with flexible work options available. A driver's licence is required for this role as it requires daily/weekly driving between schools and department offices.
