The Bundaberg Region boasts the most equitable climate in Australia and rates fifth in the world alongside Hawaii.  Noted for its environmental excellence, pristine waterways, and proximity to the Great Barrier Reef, the Bundaberg Region showcases everything that nature's palette can create.   About The Opportunity  Join our team as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner where you will be a key advisor to a broad client base on matters related to recruitment, HR, industrial relations (IR), and employee relations (ER). Your expertise will be crucial in helping to foster positive workplace relationships and enhance business operations by providing valuable coaching and guidance relating to the management of the employee life cycle. You will draw on your extensive technical knowledge and operational experience to navigate complex IR/ER challenges and achieve positive outcomes. Your qualifications should include relevant HR or related tertiary education, as well as a strong HR background and the professional credibility to establish trust, build relationships, and inspire confidence across all levels of the organisation. About You To be successful in this position, you will have: Degree-level qualifications in HR Management, Employment Relations, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent expertise gained through relevant qualifications, specialised skills, or comparable experience will be considered.  Demonstrated experience in effectively managing challenging IR/ER scenarios, including working alongside unions, and conducting thorough workplace investigations Experience in leading successful end-to-end recruitment processes Demonstrated experience in the interpretation, application and provision of advice on industrial and employment relations legislation, policies and procedures Experience in the development and review of policies and procedures aligned with industrial instruments and employment legislation Experience preparing complex and sensitive material related to discipline, employee complaints, and other industrial matters Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database packages Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, monitor workflows and efficiently complete administrative responsibilities in HR Capability in developing and executing workplace community initiatives that align with Council's values and culture Advantageous to have previous experience in a blue-collar work environment Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle under a "C" Class Licence.  Demonstrated effectiveness in leading by example, contributing positively to a team, and working cooperatively and collaboratively to improve workplace practices and build customer confidence.  Relevant HR experience in a local government environment setting, with knowledge of Council programs, policies, and activities, will be highly regarded What We Offer A competitive remuneration salary with options for salary sacrifice, up to 12% Superannuation contributions, 17.5% leave loading 36.25 hour working week and fortnightly RDOs  Opportunities for professional development training and study assistance to enhance your career progression Work within a culture that promotes a healthy work-life balance and a friendly and supportive team An all-inclusive and diverse workplace culture where everyone feels valued The Selection Process We celebrate our community's rich diversity and are committed to attracting and employing people that represent the community that we serve.  We recognise and appreciate the diversity of our employees and are committed to creating an inclusive and safe working environment where all employees are valued, respected and supported to achieve their potential.
