Consulting & Generalist HR (Human Resources & Recruitment)Government - State (Government & Defence)As a Senior HR Advisor, you'll serve as an integral part of the Corporate Services Hub, providing strategic HR guidance to stakeholders and colleagues. Your expertise will span across all human resource functions, making you pivotal in fostering positive and effective workplace outcomes. By embracing a people-centric attitude and partnering closely with management, your role will enable the development and application of forward-thinking HR strategies to meet organisational needs. As a Senior HR Advisor, your key responsibilities are:Strategic HR Partnership:Forge partnerships with varied stakeholders and colleagues to deliver quality strategic guidance and support on a multitude of HR issues.Offer coaching and tailored advice to secure effective solutions that enhance the workplace.HR Management Functions:Address the full spectrum of human resource management areas, such as employment conditions, performance, conduct, recruitment, selection, and establishment management.Workplace Issue Analysis:Carry out initial reviews and investigations into complex workplace disputes or concerns.Furnish proactive advice to management on strategies for managing performance, absenteeism, health/rehabilitation, long-term absence, and medical assessments.Team Collaboration and Improvement:Actively engage in team meetings, providing updates and sharing insights to maintain a positive work environment.Support the Principal HR Advisor by discussing any impending issues and contributing ideas for the team's continuous improvement.Leadership and Initiative Participation:Lead by example in Corporate Services Hub, aiming to distribute knowledge and encourage exemplary practice.Our Ideal Candidate:A passion for driving HR excellence within the public sector.Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, awards, policies and practices, in relation to contemporary human resource practice, particularly within the Queensland Public Sector.Demonstrated experience in case management, including experience managing workplace conflict, performance issues, disciplinary matters and non-work related injury/illness.Ability to apply advanced negotiation and problem-solving skills in maintaining positive employee relations in a complex industrial environment, including employee entitlements, dispute resolution and complaint management.Shows resilience and can navigate ambiguity to deliver outcomes in a complex and changing environment.Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders to collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a respectful, supportive work environment that promotes continuous improvement.If you are a proactive, passionate, and performance-oriented HR professional, we would love to hear from you!Applications will remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/583701/24Closing Date: Monday, 26 August 2024Department of Transport and Main Roads QLDThe Department of Transport and Main Roads moves and connects people, places, goods and services safely, efficiently and effectively across Queensland.We plan, manage and deliver Queensland's integrated transport environment to achieve sustainable transport solutions for road, rail, air and sea.
