The AFP currently has a vacancy for a Senior HR Advisor - SES Unit.
This role provides expert HR advice and strategic support to the Senior Executive Service (SES) and Executive Level (EL) cohorts within the AFP.
Working as a Senior HR Advisor will provide you the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of HR initiatives that aid the development of high performing leaders, ensuring the capacity and capability of our SES and EL employees supports the operational performance and outcomes of the AFP.
You will also play a pivotal role in mentoring and guiding team members within EST and supporting the Team Leader to maintain a harmonious and resilient team environment.

You will need to be a highly professional individual with exceptional leadership skills and ability to develop and foster strong working relationships across the AFP.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
Provide professional, accurate and concise advice to SES and Executive Level employees on the application of relevant entitlements.Prepare formal correspondence for an executive audience, including briefs, minutes and committee papers.Coordinate all aspects of SES recruitment, including on-boarding, internal movements and separations.Coordinate SES and Executive Level annual performance review processes.Lead the development of projects, policies and guidelines that support the development and mobility of executives.Support the Team Leader to manage workflows and prioritisation of tasks to meet the needs of our reactive working environment.Support the creation and maintenance of a harmonious and resilient team environment.Mentor and develop team members.Display professional ethical standards and personal integrity in dealing with sensitive personnel information.You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.Relevant work experience in an HR generalist or specialist role.Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels.Additional information This position is an AFP Band level 6.The role is Canberra-based, however remote working arrangements may be negotiated by suitable candidates who are currently based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
