Purpose of the Position
The Senior HR Advisor position is responsible to the Director People & Culture to provide specialist advice for management on all HR issues. The role will involve coaching and training managers to improve overall organisational performance, participate in performance matters to support the business, deliver and implement a business focused workforce development plan and create a fair, respectful, diverse and high-performance culture enabling people to contribute and achieve their best. The role will lead HR projects and assist the WHS Support Officer in development of specialist policies.
The incumbent is open to changing environment of recruitment within the context of Human Resources and evolving legislation demands.

Duties Design, implement, and oversee employee relations strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and effective resolution of workplace issues across the Institute.Collaborate with departments to align employee relations practices with the Institute's overall objectives and values.Assist the Director People and Culture in providing expert advice and training to divisions and departments on handling employee relations matters, including grievances, poor performance, disciplinary actions, and change management.Provide tailored solutions to complex employee relations issues while promoting positive working relationships.Assist in the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of performance improvement projects to ensure alignment with organisational goals.Provide expert advice on employment-related matters, including pay, contracts, employment law, pay reviews, and terms and conditions of employment ensuring that all employee relations decisions are in line with applicable laws and regulations.Contribute to the development, implementation, and regular review of Batchelor Institute's HR policies and employment contracts ensuring policies and contracts are up-to-date, relevant, and compliant with current employment legislation.Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager.Essential Selection Criteria Demonstrated ability to work effectively in culturally diverse teams within the social, political, and cultural environments of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, communities, and organisations.Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication which can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all educational levels.Demonstrated experience in the application and usage of relevant Microsoft Office applications, and either Human Resources, Talent Acquisition or knowledge of payroll and its integration with recruitment.Demonstrated initiative and proven ability to manage multiple projects and cases simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Strong organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively and deliver results within deadlines, ensuring high-quality outcomes even under pressure.Strong knowledge of employment law, workplace policies, and HR best practices.Ability to negotiate and influence all relevant parties to achieve the mutually desired outcome in the best interest of Batchelor Institute.For further information please contact Nima Lou on 08 8939 7222 or email ******.
