About the role As part of Ventia's Energy, Water and Renewables strategy an opportunity has been created for a High Voltage Electrical Estimator to join the team.
This position will specialise in Substations and Renewable Energy Projects of different technologies and scopes of works.
This involves all aspects of pricing delivery & pricing strategy, preparation, cost estimating, cashflow analysis and liaison with various business units to develop and deliver competitive winning estimates and offers.
The Estimator will be a crucial part of delivering growth for Ventia in Australia using experience gained within the sector and using existing resources within the Ventia business.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Review tender documents and coordinate tender approval processes, including active participation in relevant internal approval meetings Read and understand the request for tender and contract to understand the cost drivers and the basis of estimate.
Drive information gathering utilising budgets, historical data, past estimates, and the business unit subject matter experts to build up cost estimates Consult with the business unit Commercial Team on alternative pricing strategies and tendering strategies to drive higher success rates within the business.
Create cashflow from the cost estimate and in consultation with the commercial team and finance to workshop alternate strategies to improve cashflow for the business Actively participate in Risk and Opportunity identification and workshops, lead discussions regarding risk and opportunities through estimating or quoting processes Participate in hand-over of successful tenders to the Operations and Supporting teams by preparing basis of estimate and cost summaries What's on offer Permanent role in a long-term partnership contract.

About you Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or other technical area preferrable Proven project experience with Substation construction or High Voltage projects Collaborative colleague, able to work in diverse teams focusing on developing best practice Experience using CATS or Expert Estimator Strong organisation, planning and problem solving skills Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of Client policies, procedures, and guidelines Diversity Ventia is enriched by the diverse experiences, talents and cultures that our people bring to the organisation, while celebrating and respecting the communities we operate in.
