The Opportunity The Senior Field H&S Advisor is a critical role responsible for supporting the Construction Management Team in all activities related to the delivery of the field development program across both Roma North and Project Atlas developments, in the Surat Basin.
This position is a rostered role, working 15 on, 13 off.
The key objectives are to support teams to safely deliver the CAPEX Work Program on time and on budget, ensuring all activities comply with Senex Energy Corporate Policies, Procedures and Legislative requirements.
You will develop and maintain professional relationships and communication interfaces with all functional teams, supporting them as and when required.
Key accountabilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Coach Superintendents and supervisors in verifying that personnel are following requirements of HSEMS, Safety Manuals, Procedures and relevant legislation, codes of practice and industry best practice – engaging in Stop the Job discussions where necessary Coach Site superintendents and Supervisor to drive positive safety culture on site Coach in the identification of safety improvements Monitor and advise on the overall wellbeing of the site personnel both Senex and Contractor Support Supervisors in reviewing Safe Work Method Statements Support the development of annual verification plans that includes site verification of significant hazards Support the active identification and reporting hazards Lead (including development of terms of reference for incident) investigations when directed by team leader Monitor corrective action closeouts from incidents, Hazops, risk assessments, inspections and audits as relevant to the site Review contractors safe systems of work Review incidents reports Senex and contractors incident reports and provide feedback on the quality.
Lead investigations Conduct site inspections including equipment inspections/audits/verifcations Coach and Assist with Emergency Response and Preparedness planning including emergency response drills Assist Supervisors verifying contractor training competencies (eg license checking, VOC requests etc) The incumbent will require the following qualifications, skills and competencies: Certificate 4 in Occupational Health and Safety (Minimum) Workplace Training and Assessment (Cert IV) qualification (desirable) Internal Auditor qualification in either; Safety (AS/NZS 4801) or Quality (ISO AS/NZS 9001) (desirable) Incident Investigation qualification (eg ICAM/TAPROOT or similar) (desirable) Senior First Aid.
An experienced level H&S professional in CSG or Construction or equivalent related position.
Excellent written and presentation skills, with ability to adapt style and content of presentation for both technical and non-technical audiences; Proven confidence in own abilities and is motivated to deliver; Work unsupervised and as part of a team; Strong attention to detail; Provide exceptional safety leadership in a Field / Project environment, that can positively influence and foster culture towards successful outcomes; and flexible attitude and have the ability to react to changing scenarios and priorities.
