About The Role Are you a proactive and driven professional with a passion for WHS? Do you have the experience and confidence to lead teams and ensure adherence to WHS regulations? We have an opportunity for a Senior Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at our Eneabba Rare Earths Operation.
We are seeking a candidate to help us grow our safety systems and ensure they are fit to run the future Eneabba Rare Earths Refinery. This role is a cornerstone to our success, and the ideal candidate will grow alongside the construction of our Rare Earth Refinery, through the high-paced commissioning and operational readiness phases, and into the future, ensuring the Iluka safe systems of work are adhered to.
Reporting to the Processing Manager, you will play a senior role in providing operational health & safety oversight, as well as guidance on health and safety matters. You will be working with operational and project stakeholders to ensure a safe and efficient workplace and oversee adherence to the Iluka Health & Safety Management System. This is a full-time, permanent role working on a 5:2 / 4:3 DIDO roster.
Key elements of the role include: Promote and lead safe systems of work across the operation through daily inspections, safety visits, and informal audits aligned with the Critical Control Management System, PHMPs, and MSMS Develop and enhance processes and procedures that align with our future goals, including commissioning and operational readiness Lead work programs to assist our operation in developing a strong safety culture, built on solid processes and alignment with our group procedures Oversee contractor management and lead contractor Risk Assessment Workshops Oversee the transition to WHS legislation in consultation with Group Health & Safety Lead ICAM investigations with site managers and supervisors, ensuring the quality of incident investigations meets Iluka standards Embed and monitor compliance of the Iluka Health & Safety Standards & Procedures Build & maintain effective working relationships with corporate and project stakeholders Provide health & safety insights and reporting to senior management Manage the Site H&S Risk Register (CGR) and Compliance Register About You To be successful for this role, you will have:
Relevant qualifications in Health and Safety Be a self-starter, with the ability to thrive in a high-paced environment Previous experience working on a fixed plant, mineral processing, or refinery operation would be highly desirable Leadership experience with skills in advising, mentoring, and coaching diverse stakeholder groups A strong ability to influence individuals and teams to help build our site safety culture An in-depth understanding of applicable legislation, including its application Significant experience in incident investigation Strong communication skills, including the ability to present and facilitate information Our Offer To You Family friendly roster Be supported through an inclusive and collaborative culture Up to 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave Ability to Purchase Additional Annual Leave Competitive Salary and Bonus Structures Company share matching scheme You will be supported, empowered, included, and encouraged to be the best version of yourself.
