You're a talented and experienced designer who has a strong art direction repertoire and a demonstrable understanding of who Deus is, our history, aesthetic scope and unique language. You will hold the knowledge and enthusiasm for the cultural pillars that the brand has cultivated and marry it with exceptional 360° design thinking to help elevate the brand's cultural storytelling and commercial strategies across all marketing platforms.
As a graphic designer / art director at Deus Ex Machina, you will:
• Act as a cultural custodian, preserving the longevity of the Deus brand and displaying an understanding and enthusiasm for the brand's cultural pillars.
• Collaborate with the Creative Director and studio team to develop design solutions that align with company objectives.
• Lead the creative studio in creating compelling seasonal campaigns by providing art direction for photographic and video-based assets that support brand storytelling.
• Generate conceptual and idea-driven designs to communicate across a diverse mix of marketing briefs, including product and apparel, brick-and-mortar retail, events, food and beverage, and digital and online platforms.
• Pay meticulous attention to design details, particularly in layout and typography, while being open to experimenting with unconventional techniques.
• Possess a strong grasp of both printed and digital media, as well as evolving online platforms, to deliver digital assets that enhance product, promotion, and other brand marketing activities.
• Foster an easygoing and collaborative approach when working with various internal departments (locally and globally), such as sales teams, merchandisers, photographers, editors, and E-commerce teams
• Stay up to date with industry trends and practices, continuously incorporating fresh ideas into the design process to ensure the brand remains relevant and appealing.
• Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Exhibit strong time management skills to handle multiple projects with varying deadlines across different platforms.
• Apply clear and informed decision-making to contribute to the approval process for major projects on various platforms.
The position is full time and located in Sydney Australia, remote or hybrid is not possible.
