It is a very exciting time at The Kids Research Institute Australia as we continue to evolve from what began in the 1980's as a vision to create a world-class child health research hub.
We have recently changed our name from the Telethon Kids Institute, but we continue to achieve our vision of happy, healthy kids!
The Research Development team is responsible for coordinating applications, and administering funds, for externally and internally funded research grants, fellowships, prizes, and awards to build excellence in research which will improve the health and wellbeing of children.
Working alongside the Research Development team at The Kids and reporting to the Manager of Grants and Research Development, this role is integral in providing research grants administration and development support.
Some of your key priorities will include: Managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the grant support process.
Working with researchers to ensure grant applications are of the highest quality and ensuring research grants are submitted on time and comply with funding requirements.
Assisting researchers to identify and apply for funding opportunities including grants and fellowships.
Maintaining the Institute's grants management system.
Building and maintaining relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders, including researchers and funding bodies.

Conveniently based in our offices in Nedlands, this full-time opportunity will be offered on an ongoing basis.
About you

To be successful in the role you will have a graduate degree in Science or Communications and/or equivalent experience in research administration and grant development, excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability and passion to help others.
The key to your success will also be your demonstrated experience in the following: Excellent time management skills including the ability to manage varied and conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
Ability to show initiative, work independently and ability to work cooperatively with members of the team to accomplish joint tasks and common objectives.
A high level of proof-reading skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in the use of computer software packages and demonstrated aptitude and ability to develop spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations.
Comprehensive knowledge of national and state competitive health research grant opportunities from government and non-government sources, in particular NHMRC and ARC is considered highly desirable.
