The Senior Grant Writer plays a crucial role in securing funding to support Tjiwarl Aboriginal Corporation's mission of preserving and advancing the interests of Tjiwarl native title holders. This position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive grant strategies, managing the full grant lifecycle, and contributing to the organization's sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Grant Management (40%) Design, implement, and evaluate Tjiwarl AC's Grants and Fundraising Strategy Develop and maintain a Grants Management System, including a comprehensive Grants Library Identify and map funding sources aligned with organizational priorities Collaborate with program leads to identify funding needs and develop business cases Grant Writing and Submission (30%) Prepare high-quality, compelling grant applications and proposals Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and guidelines Tailor content to diverse audiences and funders Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting (20%) Liaise with internal and external stakeholders throughout the grant lifecycle Prepare regular status reports for the CEO and Board Maintain productive relationships with funding bodies Continuous Improvement and Capacity Building (10%) Stay informed about best practices in grant writing and management Contribute to the professional development of colleagues in grant-related activities Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation Key Selection Criteria
Demonstrated experience in strategic grant management, including development and implementation of fundraising strategies Proven track record of successful grant writing, with examples of securing significant funding Strong understanding of grant management systems and processes Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to align funding opportunities with organizational needs Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities Proficiency in using grants management software and databases Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field such as Business, Communications, or Public Administration Experience working in or with Aboriginal organizations or communities Knowledge of the funding landscape relevant to native title organizations and community development Understanding of government funding processes and public sector grant programs Additional Requirements
Willingness to occasionally travel to regional and remote areas Current driver's license (C Class) Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check clearance Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
