Reporting to the Senior Manager, Government & Industry Affairs, Canada, the Senior Analyst, Government & Industry Affairs, Canada will be self-motivated and able to work autonomously to anticipate, monitor, and analyze federal and provincial government policies that can impact or support Nutrien's business objectives.
This individual will also support relationships with key industry stakeholders.
What you will do: Act as a key strategic resource for the company in monitoring policy, legislation, and industry trends; develop and provide briefings and guidance to internal stakeholders; support the company's response to proposed and enacted legislation and regulations.Work closely with all corporate functions and operating units to assess their government relations requirements and ensure consistency and integration of all message delivery efforts that may impact the company's relationship with Canadian governments, stakeholders and partners.Promote Nutrien as an industry leader and periodically represent the company in relationships with governments, industry stakeholders and associations in Canada.Work with industry partners, associations, and industry coalitions to help develop and advocate corporate positions.Support site leadership, including facility tours and events that foster an improved understanding of the company amongst government and industry stakeholders.In coordination with Nutrien's Legal Department, help ensure compliance with all government regulatory requirements for lobbyist registration and record-keeping.What you will bring: 6-8 years in the field of government relations and/or political management.Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as political science, agriculture, economics, marketing, public relations, or equivalent experience.Familiarity with the key government programs and priorities in relevant Canadian jurisdictions.Familiarity with the external drivers of, and risks to, the agriculture, mining and/or fertilizer industries.Working-level relationships with government officials and regulatory authorities are considered an asset.A history of self-motivation, independence and flexibility.Proficiency in establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.Ability to travel is essential.Ready to make an impact with us?
