Disaster Resilience Program; Public Works; Brisbane CityResponsible for coordinating, monitoring and reporting governance requirements for the Resilient Homes Fund in accordance with relevant guidelines.The Department of Housing and Public Works (HPW), in collaboration with the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA), is responsible for the delivery of a $741 million Resilient Homes Fund (RHF) established under Category D of the joint Commonwealth State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) in response to disaster events across 2021 and 2022.As Senior Governance Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring and reporting governance requirements for the RHF under the DRFA and departmental guidelines. This will include preparation and reporting for audits, managing conflict of interest and program risk processes and reviews, providing advice on legal matters and ensuring departmental policy requirements are adhered to.What you will be doing :Identifying opportunities for improvement in the RHF's governance practices.Developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate better business outcomes and collaboratively resolve issues.Supporting strategic and operational activities, including providing input to strategy and operational plans, Parliamentary and Cabinet submissions and Estimates.Coordinating reporting for Internal Audit recommendations, advise on delegations and provide departmental policy reporting requirements such as Gifts and Benefits, Consultancies, and Functions and Events.Coordinating legal requests and associated requests for information within agreed timeframes.Liaising with key areas of the department to ensure the program's risk register is maintained and treatments are being applied, provide reports and advice as required, escalate risks and emerging issues appropriately.Liaising with key stakeholders such as Integrity Services Unit to ensure Conflict of Interest processes align with departmental requirements, provide advice as required and escalate issues appropriately.Managing the preparation, review, and finalisation of executive documents on behalf of the General Manager, including Program Board Papers, Office of the Deputy-Director General liaison, cabinet submissions, reports, submissions and briefing notes.Leading the RHF's review of document management systems including version control, integrity and security of files, documents and correspondence ensuring required record keeping and corporate standards are adhered to.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.
