About the role This role contributes to the success of the City by managing and optimising spatial data systems and integrating various technologies to support data-driven decision-making at the City of Hobart.
Role accountabilities include:
Provide specialist advice and guidance on GIS matters across the organisation. Develop and provide GIS as-a-service within Council including the monitoring of security. Supervise and lead junior staff in the development of maps and data outputs from GIS and related data sources using a range of spatial and non-spatial system integration techniques. Degree in Spatial Sciences or similar and several years of satisfactory relevant experience with the acquisition of appropriate skills through approved training. Several years' experience in working in a similar environment. Programming skills particularly with respect to Python and SQL. Strong understanding of Asset Management systems and processes.
