About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior GIS Analyst specialising in remote sensing to support the GIS practice across the Western Australian region, assisting with internal GIS support, data management and geospatial analysis on a range of mining-related projects.
These include environmental approvals, ecological surveys, mine closure and rehabilitation.
The role is based in our Perth office, and we offer flexible work arrangements such as work from home and staggered hours.

Day to day tasks would involve:
Lead and execute remote sensing projects, from proposal development, through to data acquisition, analysis and reporting.
Develop advanced algorithms and models for image processing and data interpretation.
Conduct in-depth spatial and temporal analysis to extract meaningful insights from remote sensing data.
Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to integrate remote sensing analysis with other environmental projects.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts in the team.
Building and maintaining client relationships on allocated projects and new opportunities.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in remote sensing technology and contribute to research initiatives.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Degree in Geographical Information Systems or similar Tertiary Qualification.
Minimum 5 years industry experience in GIS and remote sensing.
Expert knowledge and experience in the use of remote sensing software (e.g., eCognition, ArcGIS Pro) and image processing algorithms (e.g., machine learning, deep learning).
Proficiency in Python language preferred.
Genuine interest and passion towards environmental science.
Ability to work across multiple projects/teams simultaneously, maintaining client and staff relationships while delivering work effectively and within time and budget constraints.
Desirable skills
Experience with spatial modelling – particularly in spatial statistics.
Experience in ecological statistics / modelling.
FME automation and scripting.
Previous experience in the private sector.
Previous experience working with environmental data.
