This role can be residentially based, with the option of FIFO for a suitable candidate. This position reports directly to the Superintendent of Geotechnical Engineering.Your key responsibilities include:Ensure compliance with the Ground Control Management plan and QLD Mining Quarrying and Safety ACT are maintained.Training and mentoring of Geotechnical Engineers and providing ground awareness training to site personnel.Conduct and report empirical and numerical modelling results of new mining blocks.Record and interrogate monitoring instrumentation, report, and develop action plans ina conjunction with operations and planning engineers.Ground support product trials and reporting to optimise ground support designs.Ensure department KPIs and performance reporting are achieved.The successful applicants will have:Possessing a post-secondary diploma, bachelors degree, or certification in Engineering or Geoscience, specialising in either Mining or Geotechnical fields.A minimum 6 years of experience in underground hard rock mining.Show proficiency in team collaboration, clear communication, adept problem-solving, and critical analysis.High level of accuracy in their work and ability to manage time effectively.Competent in using the following software packages: Rocscience, Deswik, Leapfrog, FLACA sound knowledge of risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements.The compensation package features a 13% superannuation addition to the base pay.Benefits program including discounts with Health Insurance providers, online and in-store discounts through Glencore Rewards, salary sacrificing vehicles, Employee Referral Program and Recognition and Reward programs.Explore many opportunities for professional enhancement, such as External Education Support, leadership skill-building programs, and ambassador opportunities, which pave the way for a spectrum of career advancement possibilities.How do your skills match this job?Sign in and update your profile to get insights.Mining, Resources & Energy More than 10,000 employeesGlencore is one of the world's largest globally diversified natural resource companies and a major producer and marketer of more than 60 commodities.
