Join a mine close to the local town (of 12,000 people plus) Wide range of schools, sports & recreational facilities, and eventing entertainment Be welcomed into a cultural, family-friendly, and close-knit community Relocation costs and transfer housing provided The role Reporting into the Study Lead of the project on site, you will enjoy working amongst a highly experienced and close-knit LOM Studies and Exploration team and undertaking geotechnical engineering study for the purpose of the Life Of Mine and Exploration plan and site projects.
The successful candidate will be able to excel in taking on the following duties: 20% - Successfully coordinate geotechnical work for mine projects and LOM studies 10% - Knowledge of geotechnical mapping, core logging processes, QAQC, and procedures on site 10% - Collate and define rock mass and structural properties suitable for geotechnical domaining and modelling 30% - Execute rock mass analysis for life of mine and exploration as required 10% - Collate data for consultant's component of studies 20% - Draw conclusions and make recommendations, proactively recognize geotechnical risks to projects and the life of mine schedule Your value and skills You will hit the ground running with at least 4+ years' post-graduate industry experience in an underground hard rock operational mine and experienced with sublevel caving or block cave mining methodology.
Along with having a strong work ethic, interpersonal and communication skills, you will also be: Highly experienced in conducting geotechnical drilling programs, infrastructure stability, ground support planning, and associated caving geo-mechanical studies for underground hard rock mining projects Enjoy executing new defined projects and partaking in new study, development, and research Compliant with company codes of conduct, values, and encouraging of others to do the same Comfortable with taking on new projects and responsibilities and improving current systems and procedures on site Effective in establishing relationships with other leaders across the business and supporting your team Skilled in engineering and mining studies which are focused on underground developments, mine infrastructure, and material handling systems Familiar with Deswik, Datamine, and PCBC software systems The opportunity & why apply This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer with experience in sublevel caving or block cave mining to move their career forward.
