NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer since 2009. Located southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and employs approximately 250 people to run the underground mining, open cut, and ore processing operations. Charters Towers is close to Townsville and the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, and it offers all the facilities you would expect in a large regional town.
The role is residential/DIDO/FIFO options based in Charters Towers working a 12/9 roster 12 hours a day.
About the role: Assist with the development of the geotechnical standards applicable to underground and open pit mining.Work with Mine Planners to assist with the optimisation of stopping sequencing for good mining practice and predictable results.Perform analysis of slope stability in Open Pits and ground support standards, ground stress implications, optimal hydraulic radius, and hydro geological risk in underground.Work with the respective Technical teams and site mining personnel to facilitate safe and practical mining plans and practices in the field.Produce timely reports to site Management about any current or foreseen geotechnical issues.Assist with the delivery of regular ground awareness presentations to technical and operational employees and provide basic geotechnical awareness training when required.Implementation and monitoring of QAQC requirements to ensure compliance with the ground support standard and ground control management plan.Remain professionally current in the field of Geotechnical Engineering.Assist with geotechnical assessments of remnant and new mining areas.Assist the Senior Geotechnical Engineer with modelling and analytical work.About you: Relevant geotechnical or rock mechanic engineering qualifications.At least 7 years of mining industry experience in a geotechnical capacity with proven knowledge in both Open Cut and Underground mining methods.Experience with geotechnical investigations and interpretation (both underground and open-cut).Understanding of statutory requirements.Geotechnical core logging and assessment of core samples.Ability to work underground and complete face mapping.Benefits:
