The Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) is the custodian of knowledge and data on the Territory's geology and resources, and undertakes activities to support and grow the minerals and petroleum exploration industry.
This includes Resourcing the Territory, a $9.5 million ongoing program providing pre-competitive geoscience, investment attraction and exploration stimulus programs designed to increase exploration activity and success rates.
As the Senior Geologist, Industry Intelligence, you will monitor, analyse, and report on mineral and energy resource activities across the Northern Territory.
In this role, you will develop and deliver critical insights on the Territory's resources sector.
Your expertise will provide strategic, geoscience-based advice to government, industry, investors, and the community, supporting informed decision-making and investment in the Northern Territory's resource potential.
Key Responsibilities: Gathering and interpreting geological and industry data to deliver expert intelligence.
Developing and managing an inventory of mineral and energy resources.
Maintaining strong networks across industry and government.
Contributing to high-quality technical publications and promotional materials.
Preparing reports, briefings, and presentations that inform and drive investment in Northern Territory's resources.
Providing high-level advice based on current knowledge of evolving geoscientific and exploration concepts and regulatory frameworks.
Extensive knowledge of, and preferably experience in, the exploration industry, an excellent ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences, and strong digital skills are all essential to this role.
