Senior Geologist

Mining - Exploration & Geoscience (Mining, Resources & Energy)The Nathan River Resources mine site is located 50km inland from the Gulf of Carpentaria and approximately 760km from Darwin, we are the proud owner and operator of the Roper Bar Iron Ore Mine. We take pride in our in-house mine, marine and trans-shipment division, which manages a fleet of mine and marine assets dedicated to our operations.As a result of the remarkable success of our initial operations, we are now seeking a Senior Geologist to join our team.Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:Supervising and managing the site geology function which includes a team of pit technicians and samplers.Managing data and material flow all the way from pit to port.Giving instructions/plans and technical advice to Mining/Crushing/Road Haulage operations teamsLiaising and communicating with other Mine Tech Services team members.Identify, develop and implement strategies for improving resource understanding including improvement projects.Communicate relevant geological information to Mine Tech Services and Ops teams to assist with planning process.Complete other tasks as required.FIFO Roster Ex Darwin is 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off.To be considered for a role it is ESSENTIAL that you have the following skills and experience:Degree in Geology or equivalent, essential.Minimum 5+ years' experience in Open Pit Mining, preferably Iron oreAbility to lead and supervise operational staff to achieve set tasks.Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, and reporting in a high-pressure environment.Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?How many years' experience do you have as a Geologist?Do you have mine site experience?Do you have open pit mining experience?Do you have a current Australian driver's licence?Report this job advert Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.#J-18808-Ljbffr
