Click on the video below to learn more!The RoleThe Senior Fund Accountant ensures all financial and investment reporting is correct and delivered on time and complies with policies and regulations. This role has become available due to an internal promotion and is a 2 year contract (1FTE).Key focus areas include:1. Manage relationships between the Trustee, custodians, investment Managers, external auditors and Financial accountantsAssist and monitor compliance with contractual obligations.Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and presentation of investment operational reports and statistics.Provide support to Senior Manager, Investment Operations to negotiate and prepare contractual support documentation to:Investment manager transitions.Engage legal, taxation, actuarial and asset consultants as required.Support the implementation of the decisions of the board and committee e.g. Changes to asset allocation, funding or termination of managers, adjusting and setting fee accruals, completion of proxy voting documentation.2. Maintain organisational relationshipsEnsure strong collaborative work with relevant staff to achieve the agreed strategic projects across the Fund.Work as part of the Investments to achieve the vision and goals of the Fund and the tasks as required above.Work with the Risk and Compliance Manager to ensure adherence to and reporting against relevant risk control procedures, as per the Fund's risk management framework.3. Statutory and regulatory reporting, operations and complianceManage the weekly and monthly unit pricing process including weekly cash-flows.Oversee the completion of instructions to the custodian.Oversee the calculation and monitoring of investment accruals.Manage the ORR and ensure compliance with SPS 114 and AASB standards as it relates to both the broader fund and investments and review the policy annually.Review and update the unit pricing, reserving, operational risk reserve, and tax policies.Oversee the calculation of the MER for all investment options, including ongoing monitoring of total fund MER.Implement policy, process, internal controls, financial delegations, company registers and records.Manage, monitor and provide regular reports on the fund's investment arrangements and performance including:Cash flow and rebalancing.Ensuring that custodian generated performance reports are accurate.Provision of regular month end performance and asset allocation data to survey agencies.Production of quarterly investment portfolio risk reporting.Manage operational aspects of investment transitions.Calculate fund's fees and costs and ensure they comply with regulated guide 97.Monitor, calculate and report for regulatory guide 226 related items.Prepare regular reports on the fund's investment arrangements and performance including:Cash flow and rebalancing.Use of the member reserve account.Unit pricing.Ensuring custodian generated performance reports are accurate.Provision of regular month end performance and asset allocation data to survey agencies.Calculation of investment management fees for the purposes of member publications and reporting.Management of investment management related expense accruals as part of the unit pricing process.4. Financial accounts and auditManage the annual end of financial year timetable, audit and production of the statutory accounts for the fund.Assist senior manager to provide data for the production of annual accounts, e.g. AASB 7 sensitivity assumptions, and disposal cost information, key personnel and director remuneration.Approve all trustee invoices as the final approver, ensure all cost centres, ledger codes and tax are entered correctly in the accounting system.Process and approve weekly trustee payments to its service suppliers.5. TaxManage the fund's annual tax return process.Work with the fund's accountant to ensure the appropriate tax strategies are implemented.Identify and manage risk exposures regarding taxation.Be the primary contact for the custodian in all fund tax matters including the provision of ETRs and franking credit rates, review of tax reporting and management of fund propagation.Manage tax review process for all new investments.6. ReportingAssist with the APRA form submission and collation of data for forms. The key forms include, but are not limited to:Srf320 – statement of financial position (balance sheet).Srf330 – statement of financial performance (P&L).Srf410 – accrued default amounts.Srf530 – investment & investment flows (with excel data).Srf533 – asset allocation (with excel data).Srf702 – investment performance.Provide and/or check investment and financial information for surveys and fund publications.You have:Qualifications at an appropriate level in a relevant discipline (e.g. B.Acc, B.Com, B.Econ etc.) or a proven track record of achievement in the area.Ability to maintain a current knowledge of the superannuation industry, general superannuation law and key features of the fund.Demonstrated commitment to achieving the needs of members and employers.Ability to interpret financial and economic data.Experience in leading, managing and developing a team.Experience in outsourced provider relationships to ensure the delivery of agreed service standards.Excellent attention to detail.Good written and oral communications skills.Experience in superannuation fund management.Knowledge and experience of fund accounting principles, management of risk and compliance in the superannuation industry.We are a super fund that has an exceptional work culture, provides a diverse offering in developing our people and offer many benefits including leave outside of the legislative requirements and you can be a part of it while earning an attractive remuneration package!Interested and suitably qualified candidates should submit a copy of their updated CV via the 'Quick Apply' button above.
