The Senior Fund Accountant at FNZ is a full-time, permanent role based in Sydney or Melbourne, reporting to the Head of Fund Accounting. This role is central to maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance for superannuation funds and managed investment schemes administered by FNZ. Key responsibilities include managing month-end reconciliations, handling accounts payable, overseeing expense and reserve management, preparing financial reports, and conducting tax reporting. Additionally, the role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders to address operational matters, which is crucial for effective financial oversight and client satisfaction.
Working within the Fund Services team at FNZ Australia, the Senior Fund Accountant is expected to contribute to accurate and timely APRA regulatory reporting, statutory financial reporting, and audit support.
The responsibilities will include: Record keeping - reconciling and preparing the month-end close. Accounts payable - ensuring fees are deducted and paid on time. Expense and reserve management - reporting to trustees on reserves, budgets, and expenditures. Financial reporting - preparing reports and assisting with audits. APRA regulatory reporting - annual and quarterly D2A & SDT reports. Tax reporting - including activity statements, tax returns and true-ups. Stakeholder management - communications with internal and external clients on operational matters. Support junior staff, providing guidance and oversight as needed. What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate? CA or CPA-qualified candidate Min 5 years of proven experience as a Senior Fund Accountant Experience in preparing APRA Quarterly and Annual Reporting Forms Experience in preparing Statutory Financial Reports Experience managing, coaching or mentoring junior staff. Relevant Technical Experience (helpful but not essential) Knowledge of financial products and securities Knowledge of tax in superannuation Experience in superannuation wrap funds Experience in managed investment schemes Exposure to successor fund transfers SQL and database management skills What is in it for you?
