Supporting our busy team, currently undertaking studies on major projects within the WA market, across Iron Ore and Brownfields projects.Aurecon has been a key player in delivering many of Australia's brownfields electrical and control systems projects for over a decade. We have been successful in securing a solid pipeline of detailed design, owners engineer and technical advisor roles for key client projects extending beyond the next 12 months.We are expanding the team and are looking for an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to join our busy team currently undertaking major projects within Western Australia in the following areas: materials handling, machine safety, hazardous areas. Experience within manufacturing and processing plants is valued, however not essential.Your experience and knowledge will be well regarded, and you will play a crucial role in the continued growth of our energy and industrials business.What will you do?The full Functional Safety lifecycle documentation as per AS 4024/ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 61511 standards, including:Functional Safety Management PlansHAZID/HAZOP/LOPA workshop facilitation and report writingPerformance Level DeterminationSafety Requirements SpecificationsSafety related system design and realisationTesting and Validation of Safety Instrumented SystemsVerification and Functional Safety AssessmentsOperation and Maintenance planningDecommissioningCyber Security Risk AssessmentMentoring junior functional safety engineersInvolvement in the full lifecycle of projects from inception through to executionWhat can you bring to the team?A degree qualified engineer in an appropriate discipline (Electrical, Control Systems, Mechanical etc) with a minimum of 8 years of functional safety-related experience (preferably 5 years if full-time) including projects in the Pilbara region and/or Northern Western Australia.Certified as a functional safety engineer or expert by a recognised body (Exida, TUV Rheinland etc).Demonstrable skills and proficiency in the use of functional safety software packages such as PHA Pro or exSILentia is preferred but not essential.A background in Control Systems and a desire to support and/or develop in other capability is highly desirable.Diversity is at the core of everything we do.
