The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background with a focus on driving business performance through data-driven insights, forecasting, and financial planning. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing strategic financial guidance, and play a key role in supporting business decisions to optimise profitability, cost control, and growth initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across multiple business units.
Develop and maintain complex financial models to support decision-making, scenario planning, and long-term business strategy.
Prepare detailed variance analysis comparing actual results to forecasts and budgets, identifying risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with department heads to understand key drivers of business performance and offer financial insights.
Work closely with senior management to provide financial updates, reports, and presentations that support strategic initiatives.
Analyse key performance metrics (e.g., sales, margin, inventory turnover) and provide actionable recommendations to optimise profitability and cash flow.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, highlighting trends and opportunities for improvement.
Support strategic projects or cost-saving initiatives by providing financial assessments and ROI analysis.
Lead ad-hoc analyses on key business initiatives, providing data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
Drive improvements in financial reporting processes, including automation and system enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Key selection criteria:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CFA/CPA would be advantageous.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in FP&A, preferably within the retail or consumer goods industry.
Strong understanding of sales forecasting, margin analysis, and inventory management.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and financial reporting systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present actionable insights.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence decision-making across all levels of the organisation.
