Senior Forensic Associate - Brisbane
We are seeking a Forensic accountant interested in joining a dynamic team at a leading firm in Brisbane.
As a Forensic Senior Associate, you will apply critical thinking and analysis skills to identify key issues with financial and non-financial information and report on these within the commercial litigation unit.
Some of your duties will include:
Work in the construction of valuations for a range of businesses within a litigation or contentious context.
Assessment of damages, e.g.
trade practices disputes, insurance claims, business interruption, disputes across various matters (including retail shop leases, partner/shareholders, building and construction) and defamation actions.
Examine expert reports and assist the defence of a claim.
Assist Courts, Counsel and solicitors to understand damages claims.
Evaluate and prepare evidence for prosecutions or defendant cases.
Valuation of entities that were part of the matrimonial pool.
Investigations to determine the existence and ownership of assets.
Examination of both simple and complex business structures in order to establish the relevant interests of the parties involved.
Proactively conduct client interactions to receive and discuss client information.
Responsible for managing and delegating client work to members of the forensic unit, including the review of work and ongoing feedback.
Ongoing development of technical knowledge; being a technical resource able to create and deliver training to staff and/or potential clients where applicable.
Work with Director(s) on more complex technical issues.
Participate in the Performance review processes of junior staff, assisting in the setting and monitoring of performance related goals.
The candidate should have the following to ensure they are fit for the said role:
Full working rights in Australia.
At least 5 years of experience within Forensic Accounting.
Previous experience within Tax/Business Services, with strong technical skills.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar; working towards or completed CA/CPA qualifications preferred.
Established relationships within the legal and commercial environments.
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Continuing interest in developing and maintaining knowledge of current and evolving economic, business and industry issues.
An ability to work with changing and competing for priorities to meet deadlines.
