About our role
We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Food Technologist – Value Engineering to join our dynamic Food Innovation team, based at our Head Office in Mentone. Reporting into the Product Value Improvement Manager, this role will lead and drive identification and initial scoping of value improvement initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders, aimed at enhancing margins and sales performance for the business via cost or product improvements.
What you will do
Ideation and Funnel development
Drive Innovation: Consolidate and analyse data to identify and develop valuable opportunities.
Facilitate Workshops: Lead cross-functional brainstorming sessions to spark new ideas and solutions.
Assess Feasibility: Own high-level evaluations to test concepts and feasibility.
Collaborate with Suppliers: Partner with external vendors to co-create cost-effective solutions.
Create Briefs: Develop detailed briefs to guide teams through our stage-and-gate process efficiently.
Stakeholder Engagement
Communicate Effectively: Keep sponsors and stakeholders updated on project progress, addressing risks, consumer feedback, financial impacts, milestones, and challenges.
Align Priorities: Understand and align with internal stakeholders to meet customer and consumer needs.
Project Leadership
Lead Programs: Oversee complex, long-term projects through to various execution phases.
Financial Oversight: Work with finance teams to build and verify financial models.
Technical Leadership: Manage technical aspects of projects and ensure compliance with quality and technical standards.
About you
Tertiary qualified in Food Technology or related fields, with relevant experience in Food / FMCG industries. Proven background in product value engineering, continuous improvement, or related fields. Proficiency in data analysis and modeling is highly advantageous. Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Fundamental grasp of project management methodologies and quality systems, adept at engaging stakeholders to drive value enhancements.
