Senior Food Technologist (Manufacturing)

A leading FMCG Food Manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Senior Food Technologist to join their team. Reporting into the Head of NPD, this role will work with a complex product range and cross departmentally and be succession planning to take over the Head of Department. My client cannot provide sponsorship so will not consider applications from candidates on work visas Senior Food Technologist Technologist Responsibilities Ability to deal with a complexity of products and projects, prioritising as necessary. Ensuring you have an up to date understanding of new food trends and consumer behaviour. Manage NPD samples, coordinating all aspects of internal, factory, and customer workstreams (requests, preparation, presentation, storage, transport). Participate in taste panels and organoleptic reviews with the technical department. Assist with specification writing, own specifications or customer's platform specifications. Work closely with the marketing team including market research through shop and retailer visits as required Attend and assist with the preparation of factory trials for new products, ensuring all aspects of trial are accurately recorded. Ingredient research and sourcing – collating specification, technical, supply chain and commercial requirements. Product sourcing for eCommerce – ordering samples to review with team, collating specification, technical requirements, price, lead time and minimum order details. Organising tasting sessions and recording results. Understanding of the factory process, and limitations to ensure that they are considered within all new products and packaging development. Produce effectively documented evaluations. Responsible for completing process documentation from concept to launch, meeting the necessary standard for BRC or similar dependent on market and category. You will ideally be a degree qualified / equivalent, Food Technologist / Development Technologist and ideally have Brand experience with strong commercial awareness. This role will require a strong insight into packaging drivers for consumer success. This role will need a good IT literacy and strong collaborative abilities for cross-departmental projects.
