Position Overview:
The Senior Firmware Engineer at OncoRes Medical is responsible for the evaluation, design, and implementation of firmware components of an MPSoC platform to support OncoRes Medical's cutting edge Medical Device. This is a key role and your expertise in configuring FPGA fabric to support real-time embedded systems implemented within on-chip multi-core high speed processors will be instrumental in creating robust and scalable solutions. You will have advanced embedded system design experience with a strong ability to understand and implement new and complex algorithms and implement them efficiently in the combined software/hardware MPSoC environment. You will be a key member of OncoRes Medical's Software Program Team and expected to work with a talented team of engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.

Responsibilities:
• Designing and implementing embedded processor firmware, including software (C) and HDL (Verilog, VHDL, C) components, and ensuring scalability, reliability and performance.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including electronics, systems and mechanical engineers, and product managers, to define software requirements and guide the development process.
• Documenting detailed technical information, including architectural designs and user guides.
• Conduct thorough unit tests of firmware components.
• Collaborates with the Applications and Accessory Software Leads to ensure that embedded Components successfully complete System, Integration and Unit Tests generating records that are compliant to QMS and IEC 62304 requirements.
• As a member of the Software Team, collaborates with all team members and Hardware and Research Teams to ensure product Issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in embedded systems development.
• Serve as an ambassador to promote OncoRes Medical's core values; we are Inspired, Restless, Human and Visionary.
Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive hands-on experience in embedded firmware development, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects.
• A strong background in digital systems implementation and experience working with SoC architectures such as the Zynq Ultrascale+MPSoC or similar products.
• A solid understanding of embedded systems architecture, including microcontrollers/microprocessors, peripherals, and real-time operating systems and FPGA logic fabric.
• Strong proficiency in Embedded C and experience with RTOS.
• Strong proficiency in HDL methodologies for FPGA logic and signal processing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams • Ability to remain professional and positive in all personal interactions, and work with honesty and transparency while being committed to doing what's best for our patients, customers, and company.
• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in Australia.
• Medical, Regulated or Safety Critical systems software development environment experience.
• Experience with device driver development in an Embedded RTOS.
• Experience with documentation of Software function using UML or SysML.
