Senior Financial Operations Officer| VPS4| Full Time| Fixed Term (till 30/6/2026)About the DepartmentThe role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families, and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.About the DivisionFinancial Services Division:Design and implement financial management principles, processes, and systems to ensure that the department and its managers in central office, regions, schools and statutory authorities have the necessary support to execute their financial management responsibilities.About Early Learning Centres: The Victorian Government is establishing 50 government-owned and operated, Early Learning and Childcare Centres. These centres will offer childcare, Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten and, where applicable, Pre-Prep. You will help to establish the program successfully. The first four centres will open in 2025, with all 50 open by 2032.If you have the drive to work collaboratively, to support the infrastructure, policies, procedures, and operations, this may be the role for you. The roles require an experienced candidate in AR, AP, and CM to support the Financial Operation Manager, Financial Accounting & Reporting in ensuring AR, AP, CM and Banking policies and procedures are applied and maintained in compliance with department policy and regulatory requirements.Due to new rollout of ELCs, the ideal candidate will be prepared to manage 1-2 VPS3 Financial Operations Officers and address banking interface issues arising from the receipts and payment files between various systems for banking, Oracle EBS and Cloud and other systems as applicable.
