We work in partnership with Defence industry and Government to provide highly modular and scalable products which are integral to a wide range of critical Defence capabilities.Your New RoleThe incumbent will assist in providing astute financial analysis and reporting on business performance and use this reporting to challenge performance, produce forecasts for varied contracts and cash flows. Working under the direction of the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, you will work independently and take responsibility to drive the following activities:Analyze data from a range of sources to proactively identify trends, risks, opportunities, and recommend solutions;Analyze performance, providing as necessary ad hoc analysis and scenario modeling, challenging assumptions;Analyze operational data using insights to enhance business performance, including profitability and cash flow analysis for portfolio and individual customer contracts, identifying risks and opportunities within the business;Provide input on commentary and analysis for reports to the Board and Senior Executives on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis;Assist with the annual budget process, including coordination of input from all necessary sources, compilation of the budget model, and preparation of all relevant reports;Provide input to inform business stakeholders on financial positions and to assist with astute financial management strategies;Assist with long-term financial forecasting and reporting including the development and maintenance of a range of performance metrics to assist decision-making;Assist with producing annual cost recovery rates in line with Defence Cost Principles and bid process as required for identified projects;Work with the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to assist with the management of the treasury function, including all aspects of cash management and exposure to foreign exchange, interest rate risk, and compliance of financial covenants;Provide support to the FP&A team to assist with day-to-day queries and assist with duties in times of absence;Assist with other reporting and accounting tasks and system improvements as required.Our Ideal CandidateSound ability to investigate and analyze financial information, analyze complex numbers, and provide concise financial reporting and commentary;Ability to support your numbers and assumptions with logic and evidence;Ability to quickly understand, apply, problem-solve, and embed new concepts in a complex business environment with a focus on outcomes;CA/CPA or equivalent qualification and 3+ years' experience in a similar role;Strong attention to detail with advanced MS Office skills;Strong written & verbal communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships at all levels;Ability to work collaboratively in a team, and also work with minimal supervision;Ability to manage own workload and balance priorities as required.CEA's benefits include:Free car parkingStudy assistance and trainingGroup life and salary continuance insuranceEmployee assistance & well-being programsSalary packagingCareer advancement opportunitiesTo find out more about us, visit our website: www.cea.com.auTo be eligible for this position, you must be:Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance (NV1)The successful candidate MUST be able to obtain clearance prior to commencement.CEA is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
