The Opportunity Based in the Newcastle CBD, your new role will see you involved in the:
Evaluation of new mining projectsFinancial modellingDue diligence on potential opportunitiesAsset benchmarking and cost estimations (both capital and operating)About You You will have cut your teeth in the mining industry but know that you see things differently to others.
Whilst your peers focus on the operational targets and challenges, you have taken a broader interest in understanding the commercial drivers of a mine at both a micro and macro level.You now have itchy feet and are passively looking for a new challenge.
You would be tempted by a role where you could swap out your hi-vis on a 12 hour rotating roster for smart casual office attire with the ability to achieve a lifestyle for you and your family that has a balance.
Did we mention a 9-day fortnight with every second Friday off?You will have a mining engineering degree and be keen to add another qualification to your list (if you have not already) which diversifies your skills and experience.
You have been considering a change in career direction as you were not keen to continue to ride the mining cycle – you are looking for other career options in other industries.
Whilst it is our preference that you have also completed post-grad qualifications in finance/economics, we are also keen to speak to you if you are prepared to undertake these studies to ensure you underpin your technical skills with commercial acumen.You will have strong quantitative and analytical competency, with well-developed skills in financial modelling, including operations budgets, forecasts and analysis.You are the sort of individual who knows how to ask the right questions, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a track record that makes us want to chat with you.You will turn from a "number" into a "person" where you are valued and appreciated.
