Two divisions – Santos Energy Solutions and Santos Upstream Gas and Liquids – are accountable for global portfolio management and strategy. About the roleA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Santos team based at our global headquarters in Adelaide.Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager Functional Support, this position is a high profile role with direct exposure to the relevant Executive Leadership Team member. Responsible for a broad range of business partnering, accounting and reporting deliverables, budgeting and forecasting and providing financial insight for the Upstream Gas & Liquids segment. The ability to co-ordinate and improve key business processes and reporting will be a key requirement of the role. We are looking for candidates capable of engaging and presenting to senior executives with strong problem solving and analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who are seeking to be challenged and grow with the business.The primary objectives of this position include:Management ReportingManagement Reporting & Financial Analysis: Preparation of month-end reports on key metrics, and delivery to key stakeholders, and conduct in-depth financial analysis, including but not limited to, financial modelling, variance analysis, and trend forecasting to support decision-making processesBudgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working collaboratively with department heads to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic goalsFunctional Support: Act as a financial partner to specific business functions or departments, providing guidance, insights, and support to facilitate effective financial managementProcess Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within financial processes and systems, driving efficiency and effectiveness across the organisationReporting: Prepare and present financial reports and dashboards to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for actionCompliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and accounting standards, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial dataStakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, fostering collaboration and communication to achieve shared financial objectivesForecasting, Budgeting and PlanningAssist with the preparation of the annual budget, as part of collaborating with a range of stakeholders across the businessAssist with the preparation of periodic forecasts and the preparation of analysis and advice for stakeholders including divisional finance and Group reportingAnnual and Half Year Group reporting requirementsAssist with preparation of annual and half year subsidiary Financial Statements.Provide responses to audit queries in relation to area supportedASXProvide ASX reporting information to Investor RelationsOtherProvide support to wider Group Finance team as requiredPerform ad-hoc work in relation to projects that may arise from time to timeAbout youEssential qualifications and professional experience required for this position are:Bachelor level qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or an equivalent field.Professional certification (ICAA, CPA or equivalent)Competent in technical accounting preferably through early career experience in practice.Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis or related roles, preferably within the energy industry or a similar sector SAP Finance system knowledge, proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools and demonstrated skills at an advanced level with Microsoft ExcelPerformance reporting experience and utilisation of dashboards such as Power BI or SAC preferred but not essential.If this role sounds of interest, we want to hear from you – apply now!Supporting a Diverse Workforce Santos acknowledges that we operate on the traditional lands of Aboriginal people.
