Senior Financial Accountant - Junior Team Lead
Location: Yatala, QLD
Salary: $100k - $110k
Overview:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role involves supporting the financial activities of the company.
You will lead a small finance team and provide hands-on delivery of high-quality, accurate, and timely financial results.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with the CFO and Financial Controller to prepare monthly, annual, and financial reports for the CEO.Manage timely and accurate month-end close processes.Oversee cash management, cash flow, inventory, and asset management.Review general ledger transactions, reconciliations, and ensure data integrity.Lead and support the Australian Finance Team, including:AccountantAccounting Assistant (AP)Payroll/Accounts Receivable OfficerSupport, back up, and oversee weekly payroll processing.Complete monthly tax and legislative reporting (e.g., BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax).Prepare and support external audit requirements.Assist with business planning and policy development in collaboration with the Financial Controller.Establish, monitor, and enforce policies, procedures, and compliance with legislative requirements.Lead and mentor the accounting team to drive a culture of continuous improvement.Essential Requirements:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in a commercial accounting role.Strong experience with large ERP systems.Proficiency in payroll and payroll systems.Excellent understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.Advanced Excel and intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office skills.Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.Desirable:
