Salary: Level 6, $115,824 - $127,647 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2024)
This is a fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP up until 31 December 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency. The Financial Accounting and Reporting Branch is part of the Financial Services Directorate and is responsible for coordinating the statutory financial reporting obligations of the Department, including the preparation of the Department's quarterly whole-of-government reporting to the Department of Treasury, annual financial statements, and other external reporting.
This includes the preparation of the Department's MySchool reporting.
2025/2026 will be a period of transition and system replacement for schools with a flow-on impact to the corporate reporting consolidation process.
The Financial Accounting and Reporting team will be involved in realigning and confirming relevant downstream processes affected.
The Role The Senior Financial Accountant will undertake the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including liaising with other officers within Financial Services and other Directorates to ensure financial information is reported accurately and in a timely manner.
The role will provide comprehensive financial management support to staff and other stakeholders of financial reporting and facilitate accountability through the operations of the financial management information systems and policies.
The Senior Financial Accountant oversees the collection and preparation of the Department's interstate and overseas travel information for submission to the Minister.
Within this role, the Senior Financial Accountant assists the Principal Financial Accountant with the maintenance and distribution of accounting policy and strategic planning issues, and the provision of training and professional leadership.
