Senior Financial Accountant

Purpose of the position The Senior Financial Accountant will support the Manager, Financial Accounting to meet the deliverables of the Financial Accounting Team, including timely and accurate month-end close tasks, balance sheet reconciliation preparation, shareholder reporting, preparation of IFRS financial statements, accounting position papers, and supporting the external audit process.
Your key responsibilities
Reporting Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process in collaboration with the Business Performance Management team and other key stakeholders.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of financial and non-financial information to shareholders.
Prepare Audit and Risk Committee accounting papers.
Prepare technical accounting position papers.

Compliance Prepare ASIC statutory financial statements for entities.
Prepare audit working papers and support management of the external audit.
Prepare solvency declarations and shareholder distribution statements.

Financial Accounting and Advice Undertake financial accounting month-end activities such as posting general journals, intercompany eliminations, balance sheet reconciliation preparation, etc.
Prepare tax effect accounting calculations and liaise with the Taxation Team to ensure accurate accounting of key tax positions.
Participate in finance projects including system improvements and process efficiencies.
Prepare accounting papers to support key accounting treatments.
Update accounting policies and procedures as required.
Advise business stakeholders on key accounting treatments to optimise commercial outcomes.

Team Management Responsible for coaching and performance of two direct reports.
Work collaboratively with the Manager of Financial Accounting to manage entities.
