In addition, the role will co-ordinate the preparation of Group timetables and facilitate the implementation of approved changes to the Group chart of accounts.The role offers hybrid work arrangements with the ability to work from home and attendance at our Sydney Olympic Park and/or Sydney CBD offices as agreed and required for the role.Specifically, you will be required to:Complete month end close journals ensuring compliance with NRMA guidelines including the provision of supporting calculations and relevant documentationCalculate prepayments and provision balances, applying appropriate methodology for estimating assets and liabilitiesReview month end results including the provision of insightful and meaningful commentary on variances against relevant metrics including prior year, budgets and forecastsProvide insightful and evidence informed analysis and subject matter expertise to key stakeholders to support decision-making including lead investigations and resolving issues that impact the correct accounting of their businessComplete best practice reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, prepare ageing of reconciling items and complete clearance activity in a timely mannerEnsure compliance and assist in drafting of new finance policies and procedures or changes to existing policies and proceduresAssist with preparation of all statutory accounts, audit and associated information for regulatory reports, statutory and internal auditsHave an ongoing focus on improving the operational efficiency of the finance function, systems and processes as well as the integrity of financial reporting through reviewing the basis of preparation, methods of allocation, calculations and the appropriateness of supportCompletion of the analytical review of key balance sheet reconciliations to ensure best practice in respect to the nature and detail of account balances, ageing profile, including the appropriate level of support and where required, timely action and clearance plansEnsure appropriate records of transactions and supporting information are stored and are readily accessibleQualificationsDegree tertiary level qualification in a relevant finance discipline including CA/CPA3-5 years' experience in a similar role in a medium to large complex organisationDemonstrated experience in completing month end close and management reporting working with large data setsClear understanding of accounting principles in respect to maintaining a strong governance framework under-pinned by appropriate financial controlsAdvanced financial modelling development and maintenance skillsPreparation of management reports and balance sheet reconciliations to an external audit standardIdentify and implement improvements to existing processes and proceduresAbility to work under pressure with competing priorities and tight deadlinesExcellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport across the all levels of the organisationPrior experience in using large ERP systems (Oracle)Advanced skills in Office 365 Applications (including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)Experience in developing and using business intelligence tools (TM1)Additional InformationTo ensure our employees feel valued, empowered and celebrated we provide a range of employee benefits including:"ME'" day - one extra day of paid leave per year, called a ME Day, to use at any time during the calendar yearDiscounts on all NRMA insurances, group products and free roadside assistanceAccommodation discounts and VIP extras at our Award winning Tasmanian Lodges, Hotels and NRMA Holiday ParksAccess to exclusive member marketplace benefits - including discounts on fuel, movie tickets, attractions & experiences, cafes & restaurants and many moreMarket leading 18 weeks paid primary and 4 weeks paid secondary parental leave entitlementsMy Thanks reward and recognition program for great contributions to the teamWhy the NRMA?We made the 2022 AFR Boss Best Places to Work ListRecognised by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency as an Employer of Choice for Gender EqualityCertified as a Family Inclusive WorkplaceAwarded 2022 Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) Bronze Employer & 2022 AWEI Most Improved EmployerWe thank you for your application in advance.
